Hello everybody..
I guess somebody's got to get the show on the road, so why not Me..Ain't got much to say, but, This Creole thing is something new for a lot of the viewers, and I guess, quite a few are taken back about what they are Reading, Hearing and seeing , but believe me its' quite relavent and very real...I am proud to let the Whole World know that We Creoles are proud of Who We are and very proud of our Culture Accomplishments and history..
We may not always show it and we are not as Numerous as The Mexicans or these other New Immigrants that at times can be outspoken , but , We are there, where You least expect Us to be and even though Our voices are not loud and pronounced ,We have a Lot to say about Our Creole upbringing. and you gotta give Us credit, We were the First and the oldest Minority Group , in fact We were Here before America was a Nation..
The funny thing about Us is, no matter where we are , it is astounding that ,We somehow, manage to keep Our strong Cultural ties that bond Us as a People...Man.........., every time I run across another Creole it seems very weird that, even thought We are strangers to one another, We have so much in Common and so much to talk about when We come together... I don't know about the other People but I'm d**n Proud to be Creole.....Well I got that off my chest...
Thanks thingyyG

I wanted to tell you that you forgot that Alexander Dumas' son (fils wasn't part of his name, it was used to distinguish him from his father because they were both writers) Alexander Dumas (fils) wrote the famous novella La Dame aux Camilles (The lady of camillas). This has been made into a movie called Camille with Greta Garbo and the opera La Traviata was based on this novella. Don't forget to add him to the site. He is an important creole. If you are going to add Alexandre Dumas (père), you've gotta add the son. You also forgot to add Colette. In her biography, The Secrets of the Flesh, she talks about her grandfather being metis. His mother was a black freed slave and his father was a plantation owner that had sent his child to France to be educated. I live in France and you'll find throughout history, there are various people that have Creole roots. The link with the Antilles in France is very strong. You'd be surprised who is Creole. I'm an African-American living in France and my name is Jennifer. I did my studies in French Literature and Language at Université Blaise Pascal. I'd love to participate in your forum.

Creoles in New Orleans are down played alot by the media but every politician, knows that we run the hospitals, we are in the local and state governments, we run the school system, the Universities-and if the Mayor of New Orleans isn't Creole then he isn't getting elected! We can also stretch across all back-grounds and racial group. The frustration thing is that due to the patterns of illegal immigration and the U.S. school system, America has a serious dumbed down population but I have noticed that more newer history books, that are being taught in schools, have now expanded their Creole history. Creoles are too smart and clever of a group to allow some genetic deficient whites or blacks, with nothing but a GED to think that they are in charged of defining who Creoles are as a community. That little cute game played by non-Creoles has officially ended. We didn't cross the American border but it sure did cross us after the sale of Louisiana along with a bunch of English Protestant racism. There would be NO upscale all minority prep schools in New Orleans if it were not for Creoles. There would be no Xavier, SUNO, Dillard in New Orleans for blacks to attend if we didn't open these Universities. In fact, there would be no signs of intelligent life or culture at all in the entire state, if it weren't for Creoles.
