www.mondecreole.com/default.htmAfter decades of out-siders coming in and giving tours that said "creoles are dead" or "there was no such thing as a Creole" or "Creoles in New Orleans were just off spring of freed slaves"-we are starting to get in some more quality tour companies, run by natives-who are giving the correct history, ethnic mix description and using proper terminology. The French Quarter was the center of Creole life in New Orleans. Creoles and Creoles of Color (FPOC or gens de couleur libre )-are now the most in demand New Orleans tours other than haunted New Orleans. The white and African American tour guides have been replaced with Creole, Cajun or lower Louisiana natives-who respect the real history of Creoles and Creoles of Color in New Orleans. The tour is accurate and educational-they do not try and make Creoles with homes in the French Quarter like my great great grandmother- Madam Duplessis into an African or white . She lived in Bourbon Street, owned some servants and was a Creole Madame. She was listed as Creole or FPOC or Gens de C.L.-and there is no way to make her white or African American. I am going to co-sign off on this tour for anyone that would like to know the way life really was when Creoles ruled the Earth or Louisiana.

I agree neither European nor African, but rather Native-Amerikana for scientific classification of genre.

This is a shout out from the Treme. Since H. Katrina I noticed the wave of WASP and Hispanics/"his-spanish", or Latinos as i like to refer, moving into traditionally creole neighborhoods. Treme is the center piece for creoles with a strong Amerikan-Afrikan influence. The Treme has enormous potential and history, including Congo Square, and the Anglos know it! My barge-board home never flooded during or after the storm for there is good solid land in the Treme. I fear that the creoles are losing their grip in Treme', and with that we will witness yet another Anglo take over. Most so called black who are really creole are not aware of their heritage and only identify with Afrika, and yet subconsciously practice their creole heritage. When i tell my brethren who they really are they are astonished. Just as the naive Anglo tourists are astonished touring our city. I say naive, because the goal directed educated and edificated Anglos are fully aware of the tempting final take over attempted of our unique city and in specific Treme'. Once this very stealthy take over is complete then we will see the tour busses roll with their interpretation of our history via his-story. We creoles who are able need to investigate further into the repatriation of our neighborhoods. or Treme will be lost to obscurity just like the French Quarters and now the Marigny. We need to invest in our neighborhoods first by becoming home and business owners once again. We need to focus our attention on divisive campaigns to further disenfranchise our people. Such as, removing the I-10 that runs and divides Treme on Claiborne Ave. I submit that there is no reason for the bridge if the city widens the I-6-10 just like the are widening the interstate in Jefferson and replace our oak trees and commerce on Claiborn Ave. Repatriation is the key!

Please excuse the informalities with in my blogging, I am a first time blogger. What we need right now is solidarity between the Creole and the Cajun who both have shared interest in our city. The old adages to divide and conquer is being play as usual against our people. the propaganda machine also known as Clearchannel (Rush radio) is in full affect. They are attempting to get the Cajuns to side with the Anglos and promising them a piece of the forbidden fruit once the city has been fully taken over. But, i say there is yet another adages that says, nothing is new under the sun. Now the "neutral ground" has moved from Canal St. to Claiborne Ave, as we have clearly lost ground, in their final push to Anglicize our neighborhoods. I submit that once the take over is complete the Cajun will suffer the same disenfranchisement fate as the creole. This is nothing new! The Anglos or "Blue-bloods" know who they are via his-story (history) and the Cajun and creole are now trying to piece together our history. We are clearly at a disadvantage. They have money, they exclude us out of commerce as we speak, by hiring the illegal immigrants and awarding contracts from the outside to rebuild or flagship city (New Orleans). Our Cajun brothers need to realize that they can never be a blue-blood and the creoles need to realize who they really are and start weeding out the Anglo invented color and class diversity that is now insignificant in the 21st century. The creole of color has been dumb-downed via mis-education and pushed to the brink of barbarism via poverty, drugs, crime, and lack of real sustainable opportunity. When will our Cajun brothers and sisters stand up for us? We creole are truly the down trodden. We need to stop the cold war between the creole City of New Orleans and its surrounding Cajun parishes for we all have a shared interest in keeping our flagship city afloat. Yes this is the chocolate city, more over this is and always have been a moco-choco-latte' city and both creole and Cajun should be proud of it! So say it loud, "I'm black and I am proud!" For without the African-Indian (Native-American Choctaw Nation) this city and it's culture, both creole and Cajun would not exist. I would also like to discuss autonomy from the blue-bloods by erecting self sustaining sources of revenue. Such as educating our youth about our diverse city with a concentration on the Indian and African influences in linguistics, culture, and architecture. Why not, the Anglos do it in their cities. Now our children will be proud of their heritage just as the blue-bloods are. It will reduce crime and increase personal wealth, contribute to commerce as the youth will be once again motivated to sacrifice for an education and stay here, instead of moving elsewhere. Incidentally, has anyone notice how the now Anglo driven charter school system is mis-educating our children with unequipped schools for profit (with nonprofit status and "faith-based initiative to justify their salaries) within the recovery school districts, or is it just me? How about creating a private toll paying highway system and a mass transit system to adjoin other parishes instead of competing for revenue against one another. The blue-bloods have it in their cities and they love it. This will promote the environment with less cars on the road, and create wealth for all parishes involved. The Anglos are antagonistic in their war of attrition against Louisiana, as the whole while they keep us divided on insignificant issue as they capitalize and siphon everything we have to offer from the river delta including, but not limited to our culture. In conclusion this will not happen over night, but we have done so in our glorious past, so why not for the future? It beats going around and around on the Anglican merry-go-round. KEEP NEW ORLEANS CREOLE WILD, for our way of life depends on it!

Finally, once we have learned how to take care of ourselves again via autonomy, we will be able to export our culture to the rest of the nation. For example:
The Afican-Americans in anglo country have a good education, higher literacy rate in the kings language than the creole or Native-Amerikana, but as they try to assimulate the anglos way of life (like the cajun and passe' creole), they never and never will fit in. Instead of them assimulating the blue-blood way of life, let us creoles who still hold thier now active A. Afrikan and A. Native culture offer them a more progressive sustainable instinctive already proven culture to assimulate and that they can identify with. In turn they will give the creole recognition and what all creoles considered a prize. An education

What we really want is autonomy and prosperity. Then we can concentrate on Tours, or the Anglos will capitalize on that too. Free Big Chief Edwin Edwards of the Cajun Tribe! He knew how to handle the Anglos for he said, "For every one you hire outside of Louisiana you have to hire two from Louisiana." Gather a petition NOW!
