Creoles that keep pushing Nola.Com and the Times Picayunes (owned by the same Southern Nazis) should keep in mind that this local paper in New Orleans was a favorite of former KKK "Grand Wizard" David Duke(former Congress man of La.-who was jailed for running money scams on his racist backers) and Amos, the head editor, has had an agenda to wipe out Creole classification in New Orleans, since he took over the T.P. and its on-line version (NOLA.Com)-Read everything with a very small grand of salt. On their forums web page @ Nola.Com they will not change the term "Cajun" to "Creole" when speaking of New Orleans and the cities culture. There is no logical reason to have such an ignorant screw up except to say, that it contributes to this papers agenda.
Norma Tanner, a French teacher from Northern France, who teaches out in Cali. asked me about the constant changing of French Creole history by ignorant or willful ignorant people. She is like the third French native that asked about the lies and propaganda that is put out about Creoles from Louisiana. Many writers-mostly non-Creole- have taken to using the term "Black" "African" "African American" "free black" "freed slave"-instead of saying Creole-even when they are supposedly using historic records from La.-which clearly states that Creoles of Color were not called any of the above terms. Now, my family were listed as FPC- or Free person of Color in New Orleans. My family owned real estate on Bourbon street in the French Quarter and if they employed house servants from the local plantations-these people were called "African" or "slave this and slave that" but the way it stands right now, when I read present day material on Creoles in Colonial Louisiana-one can't tell if they are talking about Creoles (a specific group and tribe of people-with their own history, language, culture) or African or present day Protestant Black Inner City America!
Some people, who are programmed can't bring themselves to break out of this Jim Crow Southern lingo-that even most natives of France and Louisiana (at least the southern half of La.)-know is deliberate and calculated misclassification. Why must Creoles always be the "scapegoat" for America to say "See black people were doing this and that in colonial Louisiana?"
(now to a failing agenda of anti-Creoleism in New Orleans)
The planned destruction of Creole shot-gun homes(after Katrina, FEMA and the Levee board hit New Orleans) to build high rises in the Creoles of Color historic section-rear of the French Quarter(this can also include Rampart and several other streets in the French Quarter) (Bywater, Marigny)was and is being pushed by Amos, The T.P. and Nola.com BUT many Creoles, sat through many city council meetings to stop this anti-Creole agenda and now with the Housing Market scam crashing down-most developers have all left the state. So, Creole won this fight and we will keep winning fights, for the simple fact that we are just smarter.
P.S. And one of the main female New Orleans City council people, who took bribes and attempted to push through contracts to developers, who made an effort to create this "New" New Orleans-that looked more like OshKosh,WI.-is about to be removed. We getting rid of her and Nola.Com and the Times Picayune are once again trying to pretend that they are still relevant in New Orleans,La-LOL. They'll be broke with the rest of these lying rags.
CNN said today that we have "clout" in New Orleans. They of course said that the blacks have clout but we all know what "people of color" have "clout" and skills.
