Hello to all reading this post. Can anyone tell me if there are any organization in the area that promote social and service activities for Creoles of Color?

:'(In New Orleans there is not much going on with good solid Creole organizations but I can send you in the right direction..There is a Creole organization called "LA Creole" and they give regular siminars and hold monthly meetings..They frequently have conferences right on the Tulane University Campus..Here is their website link...http://www.lacreole.org ....and of Course there is St Augustine Catholic Church in The Treme off St Claude and Gov Nichols...Another good source would be Mr Osborne who works in The New Orleans Public Library and is Curator of the New Orleans Historical section .
I too have a second Home in New Orleans and was shocked to find no significant Organized Creole Community although there are quite a few proud Creoles where ever You go in the City..St Leo's the Great Catholic Church is another place where Creoles gather. There are also many Creoles Venders that have stores in the open Air French markets off Decatur Street in the French Quarters.. I guess the best move would be to just to latch on to some Creole friends...Wish I could get You more leads so I'll keep My thinking cap on .After Katrina they seem to be scattered throughout the New Orleans area
